Though now an NYC resident, I am originally from a small town in Kentucky.
My love for the arts was inspired by my parents, whether sitting next to my mom while she played the piano and taught her students or giggling while my dad performed skits for congregations. And when they showed me The Sound of Music? Oh, I was hooked. From then on, I was always performing- in dance class, in church, community theatre, or if there was a video camera around (almost always in the late 90’s-early 2000’s). In high school, I decided that I wanted to follow what I love, and to pursue the performing arts professionally.
I received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Southern Illinois University and afterward made the move to NYC.
Since graduating from college, I haven’t forfeited my student-of-life mentality. I have been auditioning, taking classes, and enjoying new parallel hobbies ever since. I have taken up boxing, running, and am a proud foster dog parent with Muddy Paws Rescue and Every Last One NYC; all of which connect me to my humanity and shape me as a more well-rounded person.
Theatre allows me to connect. I love that it is a collaborative art. I love that in every new creative space, there are challenges to face and overcome. I love being able to share what I love most in the world.
There is no greater joy in my life. Though it's probably the toughest career choice, my heart truly wouldn't let me do anything else.
